Hey everyone!!!!
I just got back from the first Pinhead Gunpowder show in 7 years! The gig was at a place called La Conga Bar and Grill in San Pedro. (near Long Beach, CA)
I got there at 7:30pm (doors were at 8pm) even though Pinhead Gunpowder weren't supposed to play until midnight.
I got the chance to talk to Jason and Bill and even Billie Joe for a few minutes. He was just hanging in the crowd during the opening act. The show much have had only 250 people there and it was in a tiny room. The stage was almost non-existent. It was like not even an inch off the ground so when Pinhead started I was basically as close as you can get without actually being in the band.
All I can say is that it was the greatest show I have ever seen in my life. It was worth waiting 14 years! I can't believe I get to see it a few more times in the next few days! Shout out to Brian from GD.net as well!
They played so many songs and I don't remember the order...so I will list them by album....
Jump Salty: Future Daydream Losers of the Year Beastly Bit MPLS Song
Carry The Banner: Find My Place Before The Accident I Used To Reach For The Bottle Mahogany
Goodbye Ellston Avenue: Life During Wartime Backyard Flames Swan Song Train Station
Shoot The Moon: Cabol Gal Asheville Kathleen
Compulsive Disclosure: Buffalo Landlords New Blood
Bonus: Three new songs that sounded like Goodbye Ellston Avenue era material!!!

The three new songs were great but you could tell they had written them very recently because for one of them Billie Joe was holding a sheet of paper in front of him and literally reading the words.
I didn't get any pictures with him because some girl starting flashing pictures of him and so he went backstage to avoid a commotion. It was rad though having Billie Joe actually say hi to me first. Actually, if you want details he said, "Hey man! Longtime no see" and we spoke about the set I was about to witness.
I would say around 15 people knew the words to Pinhead' songs. That was more than I expected honestly. The signs they had up were great too. Sorry Green Day are someone still alive. Tonight playing: Pinhead Gunpowder. 12am.
